Every Thursday morning I get up with the birds. I put my backpack on my back, lace my boots and make sure my camera battery is fully charged. Thursday is hiking day. It has been for the past year of my life and probably will be till the day that I have to accept that old age has caught up with me. I can't believe all the beauty that I've discovered in this past year has always been right here, under my nose. I'd like to share some of my experiences, as seen through my camera lens, with you. Who knows, you might be inspired to go out and buy yourself a pair of hiking boots as well...

A perfect day on the mountain...

Finally...my first post! I was really determined to post my pictures of our Thursday hikes religiously every Friday when I created this blog but alas, I'm sure you've heard what they say about good intentions...

Nevertheless, here are some of the images taken on our hike in the Silvermine Nature Reserve yesterday. We spent six hours on the mountain  - what a gift!

I wish I could add the scents and the sounds, the fresh air and the wonderful conversations we had!

Next week we're off to the Kruger National Park, so I hope to be able to capture some great images - let's hope the animals and lady luck are all lined up waiting to create the perfect show for us!

If you'd like to see the weekly updates, why not join this blog - on the right hand side you'll find the Google 'follow' function, simply click and follow the instructions. I welcome comments as well - feel free to say hi at the bottom of the post!
